western iowa,by Denison
he has a lot of bracing in the bottom walls@ the wood is all nailed to his coloums-maybe just couple -but looks well braced-as width and length increases it becomes more important-wonder what size it is-a old rule I was taught-height increases bracing every 1 foot over 10 ft at 10%-width over 20ft increases 10% every 5 ft-so a building at 10height and you make it 16ft requires almost twice as much bracing-making a 60 ft building over a 20ft wide building would be 40% more bracing
he does not have any wind load as severe as if he had the sidewalls enclose on 2 or 3 sides-his uplift is well handled with the post bolted to the cement inserts-I like the building-all in all it needs just a few more braces-on your building Jim it is important because of your more enclosed building-at the thought of that -you can never have enough bracing when wind hits

he does have some nice knee bracing- and not much overhang-which when you start pushing more then 2ft overhang-you better be putting more bracing in your rafters as that changes what the truss rafter takes for punishment at winds around 20-30mph-that sustained wind keeps working on the rafters-nice building and looks good on bracing-we here are hoping to add more bracing in are buildings if we get time
