SE MN | Last year we seeded a small new hayfield with alfalfa and clover. For some reason, the alfalfa (was corn prior year) did not establish but the clover came and has established well. The field washed badly after it was seeded in the spring and is very rough. I need to try and smooth it out somehow. Do you think running a disc over it, as light as possible until I get it smoothed out again would destroy the clover we have established? I was thinking about broadcasting annual ryegrass to get some roots established right away to try and prevent washing like it did in the springtime. Maybe mix some clover seed in with the ryegrass? Or should I just plan on getting the drill out and starting completely over? Thanks for any input.
