My Dad has a 30 head herd that are mostly 1/2 and 3/4 blood South Poll. Cows are moderate sized and have good dispositions. He calves in the fall and sells steers right off the cow in early- mid June. His calves weigh and sell well every year. South Poll crossed with Hereford or Red Angus should work well.
