Subject: RE: Enogen corn

To answer your question and not change the topic, enogen corn is hybrids that contain a trait called alpha amylase, meaning it breaks down starch and converts it to sugar. So the answer would be yes, the hybrids have been genetically modified to carry these traits.

This is where the benefit comes from. The kernels contain alpha amylase and the digestion process in the rumen is not as hot, minimizing accidocis. The rumen is able to break down the starch more effectiently, which converts feed to pounds in a nut shell.

I'm no expert, this is how I've been told. The gmo question I hope I answered without opening a can of worms
