I think the brushhog would do a better job of breaking up the corn stalks to get them dried out. The question I have: will the brushhog chop them too fine that the baler will not bale properly? I don't know the answer to this. If you can brushhog and the baler can handle it this way, this is the direction I would go. I would be concerned that mowing with the NH411, the stalks will be long, and be harder on the baler. P.S. What are you going to do when the corn stalks are off? IF you can use the feed, maybe start looking for some forage ideas to plant if and when you have adequate moisture to start another crop. There would be time to plant something like a millet for forage. Something to think about.
