SoDak Farms - 7/12/2018 14:53

I was watching a news clip from our local news crew and they spoke about this cooldown coming for the last half of July. Sioux Falls average high is 84 in July, they say there is a good chance we could finish out July with an average in the 70s. Comparable years for July avg temps if this pans out? 92 and 09, both well above average yields if my memory serves.

BTW, this was just posted on Twitter, the Euro’s 7 day % of normal precip map. I’ll look for rain totals. 700% wouldn’t be good for me.

What are your local forecasts for the remaining July? I’ve heard rumblings that the eastern belt may stay warm....

Edit to add, here is the precip map, seems a bit more manageable, but they said likely under some too. Time will tell. Did I ever say tile is the best ROI on a farm? Haha

I would find a new local tv news crew to watch--their numbers are way off. Through the first 12 days of July the average high temp in Sioux Falls has been 87.1 degrees, in order to have an average temp for month of July in the 70s (we will go with 79 for purposes of this example) each of the next 19 days would need to average a high temp of 73.8. Highly, highly, hlghly unlikely. Don't believe everything you hear on TV.
