I hope not, they would be broke. I realize they have a job , and its to give there opinion on what the weather will be so many days out.
But no one can predict the weather any better than a good trader can trade. I wish some ag weather service would keep track of their calls, what % of the time their wrong or right , the timeframe , ect.
Difference is in trading, you cut your losses when your wrong and move on, in weather there is no price to pay, like a broker basically.
Basically what I'm getting at, is their really a place for a farmer to subscribe to any weather service for 1000 or whatever dollars a year?
Weatherbell offers an ag commentary in their offerings during the growing season. I checked into it a couple years ago and it was 100 bucks a month roughly. They only get 240 a year for their premium service and it's well worth it IMHO.
