Western Illinois
Unless we catch some rains over the next 10 days, our corn yields are gonna take a substantial hit. We have been barely getting by here in western Illinois. 90+ heat for 10+ days will abort a fairly high percentage of kernels without a drink in between. I’d say 90% is pollinated by now. It’s just running low on extra moisture to fill kernels now without rains here on out.
Beans look good abs have great potential still at this point. As long as blooms don’t abort, there is plenty of time for them to withstand some heat for awhile. At least those that were planted in April or early May.
June or double crop will need the rains like the corn needs.
