Glasgow, Ky
Good obsetvations Kevin. The herd mentality is alive and well. When times are good it is a new era in farming. Remember when prices were great several years ago? Many farmers were spending like drunken sailors. Now they are down and everything is going to hell in a handbasket. Emotions are a powerful thing. The key to success is to do your best to keep an objective , balanced perspective. Too many farmers are negatively influenced by what the neighbors are doing. Get a plan and have the discipline to stick with it. Tweak it as circumstances dictate but do it based on facts and not emotions. I say all this based on many years of trial and error and there have been a lot of errors.

That's all for now. Got to figure out how to get rid of this cheap corn and beans I didn't price a few months ago. :-)
