S Illinois | Some of the high yield years in IL regarding July and Aug weather.

2004 was the best corn growing year in IL that I have personally seen. The weather is S IL that year was more like something seen by those 300-400 miles further north with lots of clears days.

Currently it feels that IL is trending towards a 2016 type year with the amount of heat and moisture seen.
