EC SoDak | In my immediate area, it seems rotations didn’t change much. We like corn, so I see plenty corn that’s smaller than my beans even. Must have went in about a week or more into June.
None the less, I’m not expecting any huge surprises with acres. Maybe a few less acres of corn, more of beans. Word is July might be toasty, that coupled with the wet areas may be enough to spark the market around the same time as last year. However, all it takes is a tweet from Washington or a press release from China/EU/etc to derail or light the rocket.
I’m hedged well on beans, lighter on corn, time will tell if I’ll regret the corn aspect. But I always felt corn had the more bullish story and still do.
Trucking a little corn today. Basis as firmed in my area, so letting go of some. Beans are gone already.
