I don't know exactly what all it means, but I think it casts doubt on some assumptions made in this thread.
FWIW, a couple of the counties on that map that I'm familiar with, and have a high suicide rate, have a very serious meth problem. Which I'm sure is correlated somehow. Interesting as well, because while the highest rate counties are 'rural'... according to the usual definition, the very rural counties tend to be low. By very rural, I'm talking 5 or less people per square mile type rural, which there is more of out here than you'd think. | |
