North of London | I was not sure that was correct so did a little digging when it was so hot again today and what I am finding is scrapping 'Cap & Trade' will not give him 10 cents to cut gas cost, only a little over 4 cents. The rest of the cut will come from the Provincial fuel tax that is supposed to fund road repair.
What the 10 cents will do is reduce Provincial income by several Billion $$
BTW the so called Carbon Tax will not go away because if the province does not have a way to influence people to reduce carbon then the Feds will put a tax on it instead of the Province.
Then the Feds will get the income and the ability to spend it.
Not sure if Ford thought this all out yet
Maybe after he gets elected he will decide it is not such a good idea to scrap it. | |
