Walnut Grove MN USA | We go to Marathon area. Last couple years rented a house on a canal. Key West is not for me but wife likes to go down shopping for a day so we drive down. It's all pretty laid back and nobody is in a hurry. Tons of great restaurants in Marathon. Was there end of December and still a lot of cleanup to do yet and some places not open yet or had moved to a different location. We prefer to fly into Ft Lauderdale but did Miami because it was a bunch cheaper. Rent a car and drive to Marathon. In 2016 we had a manatee come visit our canal mid morning everyday. They are looking for fresh water which some of the others on the canal would give them thru a garden hose, very illegal we found out later. Last couple days a momma and her baby came. Our favorite restaurant is Castaways, not easy to find and parking sucks but a great place eat. | |
