El Chupacabra. Or a mountain lion. More likely... :)

Mountain lion is definitely one animal I haven’t ruled out. The scream was a solid high pitched note all the way through from beginning to end. No raspy sounds anywhere. People laughed at me when I asked non locals about it possibly being a mountain lion. Yet the area has history of large cats. So I don’t bother arguing.

Heck, I’ve listened to the typical know-it-all’s in TX tell others , who say they’ve seen a mountain lion, that they too are wrong. In a totally different location from where I heard the scream, I was headed to feed cattle early one cool morning. A big cat crossed the road right in front of me at another ranch. There was no mistaking the long tail and large body. It was checking out calves and cows laying down in a pasture by the road.
