So I saw an ad on craigslist about 1 1/2 hours from me for a bunch of hedge posts a guy was cutting for sale. I am in southern Iowa and posts were in northern Missouri. Anyway I was down there and met the guy and he had piles of posts that he had already cut out of some timber but they were already sold. He took my order and showed me around the timber where he was going to be cutting. Anyway I was dumb and gave him a check for the total(over $1000). We were busy planting at the time so I didn't go get them right away. Now it seems like he is putting me off with excuses why I can't come and now I can't get ahold of him. Wondering what my options are or if this is an expensive lesson learned.

The only items I have is his name, his phone number and a copy of the check from my bank.
