I have an account with the Discover Bank (Think of the Discover card). They pay interest monthly and it's currently at 1.5%. They also offer CDs if you really want to tie up your money for a longer time frame. I keep my "emergency" money there, and can have it back in my normal checking account in about 3-4 days.
