Nw Iowa | If a fence has been in place that is where line will be. If there is no fence then it gets interesting. Thought behind that is if fenceline hasn't moved in 50 years than adverse pocession sticks. If you just bought farm and survey stakes are 10' on neighbors side of the fence I don't think it would be worth fighting, at least here. If it is a open field than it boils down to how much you want to spend and still no guarantees. Had one here that was almost 25' of farm was being farmed by neighbor in a open field. New buyer went ballistic and started suing. Two years later he lost. | |
