In 1997 I bought a house in the Wichita area. After about a month I couldn't figure out why I couldn't reach a number of the local amateur radio VHF repeaters very well with my hand held radio. Then I realized, "You big dummy. You bought a house with aluminum siding!" A word to the wise, sometimes even those of us practiced in the craft have to learn a tough lesson or two.
