I don't know how many bales you are going to put through a year if only a small amount then it is probably cost effective. We tend to grind a couple thousand oats, grass, and sorghum a year so the amount of time that we can save is the most cost effective for us. We use to run it on a 4850 john deere and it would handle it good except for the occasional bale when it would pull the tractor down to just about nothing.
