Eastern Iowa | I never thought that this crop was ever a disaster this growing season. I wanted to think along the terms of a percentage of last year. Let's just say the corn crop last year was an average of 175 bu.
175 X 96% = 168
175 X 95% = 166.3
175 X 94% = 164.5
175 X 93% = 162.8
You get the idea. I find it difficult to believe with variability of this crop that we can be better than 95% of last years yield. We will see. A 166 is still a pretty darn good crop and far from a disaster.
Ray, I also agree that the cool August helped kernel weight and early yield checks didn't catch that. | |
