Some food for thought....

CORN:
On 42 attempts at picking a yield number:

-On average has printed an August number that was 4.9 bushels per acre different than their January Final.
-On average has printed a September yield that was 3.8 bushels per acre different than their January Final.
-On average has printed an October yield that was 2.16 bushels per acre different than their January Final.
-On average has printed a November yield that was .95 bushels per acre different than their January Final.

-Have missed the August yield to January Final by more than 5 bushels 14 times
-Have missed the August yield to January Final by more than 10 bushels 7 times

-In those 42 years, the average change from their August to September projection is about 2.15 bushels per acre.
-The most they have ever adjusted their August to the September yield was 14.8 Bushels per acre (1983).
