East central Indiana | All the scientists (and farmers) work on the the supply side of the equation instead of the demand side (finding alternative uses for our products).
Oil industry has all the demand side scientists and that's why oil and it's by products are in virtually everything.
Would not be surprised if alternative uses have been developed only to compete with oil or some other big industry. and that industry bought the technology and put in a vault somewhere.
