Nevada, Iowa | I'm not directing my remarks at you in particular but in Steve's defense, I agree most whole heartedly that I hope (and pray) that this does not occur. I experienced an extremely early frost early in my career and I don't think I can recall a more miserable piece of crap harvest ever since. Since then it seems we have experienced varying degrees of drought, hail, flood, plague, etc. and none have been as much of a pos as that early frost.
Also, there is most definitely a faction here on Agtalk that seem to want the crop destroyed (somewhere other than their's) in hopes of a miraculous rally. I certainly wouldn't mind a rally but I'd rather see corn drop to 2.50 cash than go through another early frost.
While I think the odds of an early frost might be slightly higher than normal, here's hoping for a normal to late freeze for everyone and may we all be surprised by better yields than we anticipate now. | |
