Toronto, South Dakota | Good money can be made. Buy a 25 lber for ~2.35 and sell a 60 lber for 3+. Feed costs about $15 hd. CDT $2. Big problem is finding good kids to buy. Group may look shiny at the barn and after a couple weeks at home they fall apart and you have 8 left of the original 30 you bought. Have a good plan/vet and know who your buying from will improve your odds. Stay far away from anything full dairy or too much dairy influence. I use red brand #9 13 wire cattle panels and have yet to see a goat or kid every get thro one. Stuck yes but not out. | |
