Subject: Question for Ray...

Boone Co. Iowa
Ray,

Much appreciate your comments. I'm attaching a chart of the corn, Dec 17 and Dec 18 spread. I blocked off the February Crop Insurance months for the past two years.

So, if you are saying that to capitalize on a short crop this year (17), a person would be Long the Dec 17 contract and short the Dec 18 contract and that that might improve 35 to 50 cents. I just question whether we could make up that ground in that short amount of time. I agree with the premise, however.

I guess my question is, what kind of national yield would you see that gets a 35-50 cent turnaround on this spread?
