Thanks kagen. Probably what is happening. I've been there for the last 10 years that you hope for it to quit raining. Suppose in a way it's due time for something like this. Something for you guys to check on and see what your thoughts are. I went around and pulled heads tonight. Wheat and durum. Mostly a durum grower. Wheat was in early and has a lot of spikelets that are filling but short heads and I'm sure it will be light. Like I said I'm mostly durum and I pulled about 100 different ones from various fields and maturitys. Many heads have 4-6 viable kernels forming. Doesn't surprise me but after driving through the state I thought we may have the better of the crops excluding the eastern parts. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this? And if so this will dramatically decrease the yields. Straw and heads for 70bu and get 15 might be a possibility.
