Subject: 2600 and "cold" reboot ?

Just learning on this 2600, first year.
I was trying to set up a new A B line and could not. Call tech support and after we worked with 2600 he said I needed to do a cold reboot. Turn off tractor, unplug 2600, start tractor, plug in 2600. Doing this then allowed me to go through steps to set up an A B line. How common of a problem is this? How often would be to often for this cold reboot need to be done? Once ever 10 times, ever 20 times ???
Does the 2600 need to be sent in for some kind of service? 2600 has about 385 hrs of use on it. I bought it from a JD dealer off of ebay. Seller said they had sent in to JD for check up before selling.
