SW “Ohia” | Hello all,
Been traveling through the southeast portion of Ohio a lot recently and speltz is a surprisingly common feed among the cattle guys there. I knew speltz was historically popular in that region, but never realized there were still so many people growing a bit of it.
Ohio is really the only state that grows any notable amount of speltz, but I was curious if anybody on here has fed it, and your general opinion.
The feed clinics I have attended (OSU run) have always stated that speltz should be treated like oats in a ration from a balancing standpoint.
