The spring revenue price for soybeans is $1.34 higher than last year while the spring revenue price for corn is only $0.10 higher. Now that $10.19 soybean price doesn't cover all my acres but it covers enough of them to seriously affect my thinking. And my thinking is, anyone who plants more corn that contributes to more than 90 million acres is just gambling that someone else will have a weather problem and they won't.
A comment: SAT used to endless chide producers about holding unsold corn in bins as just a foolish gamble. Well, maybe, but planting corn on the promise of a weather event seems like just as foolish.
But what do I know.

I think my acres will be counted in the first million acres, possibly it could be YOUR acres that put it over the 90 million mark? :)
