| I am in same boat as you,,,,getting damn expensive to spray chemfallow with not great results,,,particularly with RThistles...we are making a conscious decision to go to a 1/3 2/3 cfallow crop rotation...and introducing legumes into that rotation......
We are in a very dry zone historically speaking, have been through the 1985,1988,1999-2001 droughts....so NOBODY will ever convince me to get rid of fallow completely.....but I do see the need to get out of the cfallow/small grain rotation,, ,,question is how?.....what is the perfect rotation for me????? That is a million dollar question. In the end, I equate SUSTAINABILITY with PROFITABILITY,,,,,,if I can't make a living what's the point?????????? | |
