I always started with a 23% calcium solution then CMPK if that didnt work. Glucose and some stress boluses never hurt either. Check for ketosis. Often goes hand in hand with milk fever
Needles are cheap, unless youre doing a routine vaccine on a couple dozen cows, i never saw the point in reusing them, especially if theyre being used to treat an illness. And if shes down she can still swing her head like a giraffe, halter her and tie her to her own leg if you cant get her in a headlock
