Central, WI | I agree the 7+4 models are much better in many ways over the older H&S 500's. I would still take a H&S 500 over a Rex box any day if those were my only two options.
If you already know what the 7+4's are capable of I would stick with that model unless you can get the Meyers one for less. My neighbor also ran 3 Meyers 500's for several years. He never complained about them if that helps. He had nothing good to say about his Gehl 970's though...LOL. Meyers are a bit superior to H&S I would say. You can see that reflected in the heavier build on the frame and price they bring new, and used most of the time on auctions. Reliable and easy to get parts for both H&S and Meyer.
