Asked for heifers, actual BW can be influenced by environment and month of year born. Here a Sept calf after a dry hot July, Aug will be small. same cow and bull in Late June after a good spring will usually be big. Think about it. only makes sense. Use all info don't rely on 1 thing. JMO and somehow have survived 32 years in the business. first fifteen babysitting heifers, last 17 finding healthy calves with there mother usually up and going.
mobeef I'm going to say something revolutionary. I look at birth weights for a couple generations to see if there's anything big lurking in the pedigree up close. I don't just look at the bweight of the individual like universities and breed associations would like to compare ends to
