Subject: RE: Random fire questions

NW Oklahoma

Most of the pastures that burnt in my area were sandy river bottom. These pastures were sand dunes in the 30s. They are completely bare again. Some of this pasture is so steep and soft 6 x 6 fire trucks and motor graders were getting stuck in the sand. If the wind doesn't get to wild and spring rains come it could heal fairly quick. If the wind blows and drought continues, who knows. Fire was hot enough in some areas, I fear the roots were burnt too.  Several herds survived by the Grace of God. Whole pasture burnt and cattle were unharmed. Others not so lucky.
