NE MO | For 50 years our calves get shots at the first of May when we turn out on grass and about a month before we wean in November religiously... we hardly ever have health problems... our calves are usually at the top of the sale because the buyers and the barn know the name and are usually even enough they don't sell in small bunches. Gary would never buy our calves because they would cost him too much :) I think that might explain why he's having problems... I'm just a beginner compared to some on this forum and I'm sorry, but I hear a lot of folks bragging about buying ones and twos cheap... calves... as in most of life you get what you pay for, some get lucky but I'm usually not one of those so I play it safe.
Oh, 5% seems a little high on calf loss.
