I have heated barn and bedding for first calf hfrs only. That is only 20% of the herd. The rest calve in the calving pastures with lots of brush and tall grass for shelter. 2' of snow is not uncommon and makes for some really long days of hauling calves into the warmer/drier and then back out to the cow. Snowmobiles necessary on these days
