Subject: What Can My New Pens Hold

Central Illinois
I am finishing up my new pens and am curious about capacity. I made them using the maximum space I was allotted on our farmstead. I made 3 pens each with 1400- 1600sq ft for 100lbs up to 280lbs (They are not perfect squares so hard to tell exact size) and 1 pen 800 sq ft to get them from 50-100lbs. They are all dirt but will each have a small concrete pad for a round feeder and waterer. I am a specialty guy and dont want to over crowd too much as that is part of how I will advertise. How many hogs do you think each pen could comfortable hold without making a total mess of the pen? Also how much sq footage would you make sure you had for shelter? I dont want the shelter too big, just big enough to fit all hogs inside to get out of the weather.

I was shooting for 60 hogs in each but feel 30 would probably be more realistic if I did not want the space to become one big mess.
