Ridgway, IL | I was impressed by the amount of Holsteins on feed around you. I bet we looked at 15k head in 10 different yards that day and I only saw 2 or 3 pens of colored cattle.
I know it's a dairy centered region, but there are a lot of colored cattle avaialable nearby too, and a lot of guys I talked to were importing their feeders from as far as PA and VA... was interesting
Definitely a lot of guys edgy about the current state of the Holstein marketplace, most were determined to lay another round, others were thinking more about placing colored cattle | |
