Don't need a wall in the middle of the pit. Just feed down one side and leave silage as a wall. You'll have to throw away some silage as you feed back but in all reality its not many tons and is probably cheaper than the wall. Also without wall you will do a better job packing and covering which can probably save you as much feed as you will have to throw away.
