NEMO | Well my best guess is that the ground hay is actually too processed for the vert. 20 gallons isn't adding much moisture to the batch if you think about it from a % moisture perspective. I've done lots of dry hay in a vert with silage or a wet by-product...it works OK, but not as good as baleage. Don't know what else to say, other than let the vert process the hay, or like the guys below said, add water, lots of it | |
