northeastern Ohio | I bought a used 1030 at auction in 2007. I put a lot of money in it and it still was very unreliable. Maybe it was abused before I bought it, but I had a ton of down time. You don't want down time when the hay is ready to cut. I ran it a couple years and then bought a new Hesston 1372. The Hesston has been very reliable with virtually no down time (two broken spring bolts that I fixed in less than 30 minutes by welding a nut on the end). The hay seems to dry faster with the Hesston too. | |
