Subject: Advice on complete cattle dispersion, equipment, and renting our pasture

Bon Homme County, South Dakota
So it's really looking like the cattle will all be gone this early winter. Row crop is just working much better for us. Items we have to offer:

1) About 120 cow bred, ranging from second year cows, all the way up to some 15 year old veterans that just won't quit
2) 25 bred heifers. Top of our herd, would have been the heifers we would have kept ourselves, if we would continue
3) 6 breeding bulls, but I'm assuming those will likely need to be sold strictly as slaughter weights. Ages 2-6 years
4) Will also have 100 feeder calves, but probly still taking those to salebarn
5) 20 replacement heifers, unbred

Along with that, for equipment we'll have feeder wagon, non-rotary combine for wheat and head, pull behind silage cutter, dump wagon, square baler, and other supporting cattle equipment.

And if you read any other posts, we'll also have about 450 acres of pasture we have to rent. One 300 acres, another 125 acres, and a smaller one that is only 25 acres.

So big question, should we try and schedule our own private auction for all of this, or break it up and sell in pieces? Like take the bred cows to a salebarn one day, feeder calves another day. Then maybe take our cattle equipment to a large machinery auction, like Wiemens and take what we get? And then maybe put an ad for the pasture in the paper and see who calls?

Thanks for any and all advice.
