Subject: RE: COG of $1.30

Beresford, SD
Matt your high..............final answer $1.17/lb. I was shocked it was that high. Discussing with friend today......feeder market has recovered very nicely since late October, so he still has less in them today then what they would cost today. Biggest lesson we discussed is the true cost of weaning.....(taking off the baby fat) backgrounding for a short period of time and the cost of keeping them really green. Last item we discussed is if buying light weight bawlers.....some one else (grazers....be it grass or wheat) can do it a lot cheaper than we can! Numbers don't lie, always room to learn.

FYI
Health was never a real issue on this set of calves. 13% pulls.
