I agree with both you guys: if today's prices are profitable it never hurts to sell some and take some risk off. On the other hand if these prices aren't profitable its too early in my opinion to be selling at a loss (for 2017). I have sold some beans for 17 but no corn yet. For me today's price is about a breakeven with an average crop, and I am close to making a sale. The problem I have ran into in the past is if I end up with 20/bpa less than average and that makes my sales at a loss. Not low enough for insurance to kick in either. Of course if not all the crop is sold there is still the chance to sell the rest of it at most likely higher prices.
