That's a good question. One answer might be that along with corn and soybean seed, I also sell rye, radish and other cover crop seed. Comparatively speaking, cover crop seed is not a bread winner for a seed company, but to encourage corn and soybean sales, maybe I provide you with free cover crop seed. Is anyone doing that?

Maybe I'm a nitrogen provider and, yes, I want to sell you more N, but I don't want it ending up in the Des Moines Water Works so I want to encourage better practices. Maybe I provide education programs or a deal on N-Serve.

You mentioned equipment. Are there equipment cost sharing programs to encourage conservation farming practices?

Just fishing at the moment on this looking to see who outside of the USDA programs might be trying to encourage conservation farming practices.
