NCKS | We have just gotten back quite a few soil test results from the lab. We have some fields that show low to very low in P1 ppm, but show very high in P2 ppm. For example, sample 1 form one field shows 9 ppm P1 and 120 ppm P2. The lab recommends that for 130 bu corn, we apply 70 lbs of P205, and I am assuming that is a 3 or 5-year build. I was just wondering, with that high of P2 do I need to apply 70lbs? I'm not at all an expert on soil tests, but from what I understand P2 is the readily available P plus a part of the active reserve. I know that pH and OM can have an effect on this, and this field is basic in spots. I just hate to spend a lot of money if I don't have to. So will that high P2 help me out? Or do I need to do what the lab says? Or band?
Thanks
