We didn't build carry by inflating the backend, we smashed the front end. Also think of the term structure like offset stacked Lego blocks. Kick the bottom block out and the rest drop to the one level. Rinse and repeat. Selling the carry can benefit the forward seller if you subscribe to that thought process.
