Take it out at home before you go, you'll be an expert before one battery is used up. You'll have a feel for what you're comfortable doing with it. It's not like flying a RC plane, you can stop and think about which way to go. Keep the battery warm until you are ready to fly, and it will take a little bit for the thing to warm up after you connect to it when it's outside. I'm sure you will get some spectacular pics where you're going.
