NE Miss | Some of the farmland in that area is very productive for MS, not uncommon at all to see 200 bushel corn, or 12-1500lb cotton. With that said the ground changes very quickly here, in that you can go from that to something that is only suitable for pasture very quickly because of grade or soil type. The land the industries are on are a mix of both.
It did really improve the economy in that area since we have recently lost some of our other industries to consolidation. Lots of jobs, lots of opportunity was brought into the area because of it.
